Publisher Description
Look up at the sky, with new eyes.
CloudWatcher is an all-in-one cloud observation app: identify clouds with AI, learn from a built-in field guide, take quizzes, log every sky you see, and never miss a rainbow or sunset.
Features
Cloud AI Identification
Take a photo and let AI identify it across 10+ cloud types (cirrus・cumulus・stratus and more) with explanations of weather conditions and how to spot each one.
AR Labeling (New)
Point your camera at the sky and tap any cloud. AI labels stick in 3D space so you can compare multiple cloud types at once.
Today's Sky Live Activity (New)
Your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island show what's likely in today's sky in chronological order: rainbows・sunsets・sunrises・halos・cirrus days・stargazing nights.
Smart Sky Alerts (New)
Forecast and sun position predict moments like "Rainbow likely" or "Beautiful sunset expected" and notify you just in time. Each alert type can be toggled.
Cloud Field Guide
The 10 WMO cloud genera with photos・characteristics・meteorological context. Jump straight from the guide into capture mode.
Cloud Quizzes
Three difficulty levels (beginner・intermediate・advanced) to sharpen your observation skills.
Map and Statistics
See all your captures on a map. Track your most-photographed cloud types over time.
AI Chat
Ask questions about clouds and weather using your own photos as context.

Weather powered by Apple WeatherKit. Cloud identification powered by cloud AI.
Version History • Cloud identification now uses the latest AI model, improving accuracy and response time when analyzing your sky photos.
• Fixed an issue on iOS 26 where photos were not attached when sharing to X (formerly Twitter). 2.3.1 Sep 22 This update adds a welcome experience for new users and makes learning more rewarding.
New and improved
・Added an onboarding flow for first-time users.
・Learning is more fun: cloud collection progress, cumulative quiz stats, and achievements.
・Open AR mode (point at the sky to label clouds) in one tap from the Learning screen.
・Tapping a sky-moment notification now opens the camera right away.
・Privacy: location is now off by default when sharing (you can still choose each time).
Fixes
・Fixed the share screen location toggle occasionally switching back off.
・Fixed "Unknown" briefly appearing while a new photo is being analyzed.
・Daily quiz streaks now count correctly.
・Startup optimizations and stability improvements. 2.3.0 Jun 7 What's New
• Polished English experience. We've fully localized the app's English UI — home, quiz, share, weather, and error screens now read naturally. Camera, location, and photo-library permission prompts are also localized.
• Easy reviews. Tap "Rate App" in Settings to open the App Store review page directly. We may also ask for a quick rating from inside the app after positive moments.
• Bug fixes: removed a duplicate Close button on the Statistics screen and fixed a missing space in the "186 clouds recorded" counter. 2.2.1 May 12 A Sincere Apology
In October 2025, we shipped version 2.1.0 as a complete rewrite of the app's internals. During that overhaul, we failed to migrate the cloud observation records that you had saved in the previous (Objective-C) versions of CloudWatcher.
For everyone who carefully recorded the skies day after day, and for those who had only just begun — we are deeply sorry that your records appeared to vanish from the app, and that it has taken us this long to address it. Please accept our sincerest apologies.
Recovering Your Old Data (Important)
This update includes a one-time recovery routine that automatically imports observation data left on your device by the previous version of the app.
・It runs automatically on the first launch after updating
・If the legacy data is still in the app's sandbox, your cloud names, timestamps, locations, memos, and photos will be restored to the new list
・Recovered photos are stored as legacy_*.jpg files
Unfortunately, in the following cases the data cannot be recovered:
・If you ever deleted the app and reinstalled it in the past (iOS clears all app-internal data the moment an app is removed)
・If you have switched to a new device and no longer have the device that contained the older app
We're truly sorry for this limitation.
Version 2.2.0 Another updates — A new way to look up at the sky
AR Labeling — A new third capture mode. Point your camera at the sky and tap any cloud to identify it on the spot. Labels stick in 3D space, so you can compare multiple cloud types in a single view.

Version History A Sincere Apology
Live Activity: Today's Sky — Your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island now show what's likely in the sky today — rainbows, sunsets, sunrises, halos, cirrus days, and clear nights — in chronological order. Never miss the right moment to look up.
Smart Sky Alerts — CloudWatcher reads the forecast and sun position to predict moments like "Rainbow likely" or "Beautiful sunset expected" and notifies you just before. Alerts mirror to your Apple Watch automatically. Toggle each type independently.
Refreshed Camera UI — Mode switching now lives in the navigation bar, giving every mode a full-screen camera view. 2.2.0 1d ago * Fixed bug in landscape mode camera. 2.1.4 11/16/2025 - Add Cloud Map
